The Opportunity
Barentz is a leading life science and specialty performance ingredients distributor. Headquartered in the Netherlands, the company has operations in more than 60 countries and employs over 2,000 people. 

Following several acquisitions in North America, Barentz formed the Synthesis Solutions vertical to be a value focused partner for sales of specialty intermediates and additives to industrial market segments. With plans for rapid growth, a Vice President was required to lead the Sales function.

Our Approach
Bramhall & Co was trusted to search for an experienced and culturally aligned servant leader based in Eastern US with a stellar background in the chemicals industry. Our brief required an individual with a track record of building and developing high performing sales teams with distribution exposure, specific industrial market experience, and technical knowledge.

Given these strict requirements the talent pool was inevitably small, meaning it was vital that we effectively engaged with candidates in our approach. We worked in close partnership with the President to deliver the key stages of search and selection: research and mapping, screening, assessment, and validation. 

The Results
After an extensive executive search and interview process, including on-site meetings in Chicago, Barentz appointed a highly experienced Vice President of Sales with an exceptional history of commercial leadership and growth.
